Terms of use
Effective September 6, 2026. These terms apply to the emdrgear.com website, reservations made through it, and use of the kit and published files.
1. Who these terms are with
EMDRgear LLC, Texas, USA ("EMDRgear", "we"). By using the website or submitting a form you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Reservations are not orders
A reservation records your interest in the first production run and your place in the queue. It is free, creates no obligation on either side, and can be cancelled at any time by emailing hello@emdrgear.com or replying to any message from us. No payment is taken when you reserve. Pricing, shipping cost and an estimated ship date are communicated by email before any payment is requested; a purchase happens only if you then choose to pay, under the sale terms provided at that time.
3. No medical claims
EMDRgear is a bilateral-stimulation device intended for use in EMDR sessions under the guidance of a trained therapist. It is not a medical device, has not been evaluated by the FDA or any other regulator, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Decisions about therapy belong to you and your therapist. See the safety notice.
4. Product status
The kit described on this site is prototype hardware (iteration 1). Features marked "coming" are planned and not yet available. Specifications may change before production. We will describe any material change to reservation holders by email.
5. Custom-built hardware; warranty
Kits are custom-designed and hand-assembled. Warranty terms, if any, will be stated in the sale terms you receive before paying. Nothing on this website is a warranty. Open-hardware files are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and you build and use them at your own risk.
6. Open-hardware files and firmware
Design files and firmware are published under the licence stated in the repository that accompanies them. You may print, build and modify for your own use in accordance with that licence. You are responsible for the safety of anything you build, including electrical safety and the suitability of parts you substitute.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the site or the telehealth relay to send anything other than device settings, to interfere with other users' devices, or to attempt to access data that is not yours. Do not submit forms with false identities.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EMDRgear is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the website, a reservation, the files or the kit. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us, if any.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts located in Texas, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it. Reservation holders will be emailed about material changes.
